Shimoton JHS Graduation Ceremony 2005

Some first and second years get ready to perform for the ceremony. As usual, Erika is quick to spot the camera on them.
*Tsk Tsk* Michi... such an unelegant pose. You can also see here what is a common occurance in Japan: dress clothes and sneakers.
Ah, the oboe section. Tomoya, Shinnosuke, and Manabu decide to pose rather than hide.
The stage complete with a gorgeous flower painting.
Out in the lobby, I get Sena, Emi, Takumi, and the kyoto-sensei to pose with some cherry blossoms.
The parents begin to arrive.
Here's the graduating students with their parents, Hori-kocho, and their homeroom teachers. Yes, the kyoto-sensei is also Taka's father. This wasn;t the same time as the actual photograph, so I managed to catch Taka smiling. Once the ceremony itself is over, the somber mood and the tears lightened up a bit. There was much crying during the ceremony itself, which I fully understand. This was a great class and I'm going to miss them.
Here's the cover of the program with a picture of all the sannenseis in their classroom. Yes, that "Be Hero" poster has been up all year.
Everyone gathers in front of the school to bid the third years farewell one last time. The ceremony was held March 11th, by the way.
We can see Marie and Takumi and their mother in here, also I think that's Tomoka with the back of her head to us.
Now that's the third years as I know them. In the background is a small snow sculpture done by the school's resident artist. I'm not sure what his actual job is, but he makes a lot of cool things like this. It says something along the lines of "Congratulaions for graduating."
Here's Tomoya, his mother, and one of the teachers who will be leaving next year due to Shimoton JHS's shrinking size.
They had on display self portraits done by every member of the third grade class. Here's Chihori and Takanori.
Next, Sho and Marie. Marie's is really damn good in my opinion. Oh, and the swans are reflections on the glass, not part of the actual painting.
And finally, Kazumi and Toyo.
They also made some cool door signs.
Here's a shot from the party afterwards at Hori-kocho's house. This is a common scene at parties - the front entryway covered with shoes.
