Some random pictures from work

Here's the article about me from the town paper. Apparently the title reads something along the lines of "Handsome single new ALT"
This is my view out the window at the office. Very nice all things told. I get to stare out at it often.
Here's the office where I spend most of my days. It's actually a very nice building. So nice, they broke the bank building it. There's a lot of town mergers going on lately due to the recession, so Hamatonbetsu, being the largest town in the area, built a swanky new office to entice the other towns. Sadly, it cost rather more than they had planned, so now lower level employees are not permitted to do things like use the automatic hand dryers in order to save on electricity. That's bueracracy for ya.
Here's the view of town from the office parking lot. This was right after I got off work (at 4:30) about a week ago (Oct. 12) This is why they need daylight savings time out here. Well, that and the sun rising at 3:30 am in July (or so I've been warned). Nowadays I need to use my headlights when driving home in the afternoon (I refuse to call 4:30pm evening, however dark it is).
Here you can see one of my early attempts at caligraphy. It's harder than it sounds, and caligraphy is one damn hard-sounding word. Out of some sense of pride I'm not going to show you my first attempt, made before anyone bothered to give me any instruction. Here's a hint though: I had a significant audience standing over me and laughing.
