Ma Ma Maji Rangers... |
I'm paddling the canoe |
These kids didn't quite get the idea... |
The waters got crowded at one point. |
What sorts of things would you expect at a fishing town's festival? Shell schucking contests! |
Some kids from the ikiiki (and friends) show off their cool new tongue dye |
I gave the camera to one of the girls. This is one of the nicer pictures she got. |
This jacket amused me, especially for an area so close to Russia. |
Ah, the log running competition. I went slowly. |
The junction between logs was the hardest part, with the new one sinking as you step on. |
Alas, going slowly wasn't good enough. |
There was also some Yosokoi dancing. |
Here's a photo for the Pro Wrestling tour that came through Hamaton. Kind of amusing. I've never seen a muscle-bound man in a leotard poke another muscle-bound man in a leotard in the butt in front of a large, live audience before. Kanchous - not just for elementary students! |
And a bit of taiko. I don't know what the masks were for since I didn't stick around to watch this. |
And later on, some excellent fireworks |
Including "star mines" - fireworks that they shot out onto the lake where they then exploded, making some cool reflections. |
Some more star mines |
And more |
You can tell which way the wind was blowing from these long exposures... or which way I tended to move the camera |
